What a crappy summer.
Enormous amounts of rain, mindnumbingly dull summerjob and absolutely no interest in doing the field work for my studies.. Maybe I'll just quit.. or at least take a break.. But then I'll never really finnish school. I feel that if I get my masters - it will be a nice end to the whole school thing.. Aaarghhhh!! Can't think about this stuff anymor ....
One good thing about this summer.. I got to see Pixies! (Is it The Pixies or just Pixies?..) They were amazing, and I am truly greatful that I got the oppertunity to see them live. There are so many bands that I've discoverd just after they split.. But I have to say that I was a bit weirded out by seeing middle age men crying with joy.
He's not a very talkative man that Frank Black.. They all stood on pretty much the same spot during the entire show, and not a single spoken word was uttered. Oh no, I lie. Towards the end there came a few thank you's from Kim Deal and a comment about the rain ponchos which 3/4 of the crowd was wearing.. That it kind of looked like a clan rally.. But they really didn't have to say anything. The songs speaks for themselves, and their energy was great despite of them not moving...
I was also very impressed by Franz Ferdinand. I've liked the singles I've heard on the radio/tv, but I haven't been able to see what was so special about them. But seeing them live - I got it. They were brilliant.
But of course, like always - I go on the one day when the rain just won't end.. I was planning to see Gary Jules and Maria Solheim later that night, but I was soked and freezing so I just went home... Left after hearing half a song by Alicia Keys.
Oh, and also got to hear Morrisey and Modest Mouse. Didn't have enough money to get in to see the concerts, so we stayed outside in the boat and just listened. Not the best way to experience a show. But at least I got to hear them, and it was free:)
Guess I have to go to bed now. Have to get up at 6.30 tomorrow morning. I hate it!!
