"Too weird to live, and too rare too die"

OMG, Hunter S. Thompson shot himself! It such a violent way to go. I can understand that people want to end their life. But shooting themself. Think of the poor people who finds them. But I guess he had too much fire to leave this world silently. I remember when Elliot Smith killed himself. Sad day. But stabbing yourself is a kind of poetic way to go, in a disturbing sort of way... Enough death. Something happier. Went an saw Sideways on saturday. Wonderful. Felt like having some wine when we left the cinema. Wonder why.. Paul Giamatti was brilliant. Ok, so his character was very similar to the one he played in American Splendor. But he does it so well. And Virginia Madsen, who knew.. But still, she gets an Oscar nod, and Giamatti not.. It's like when Kim Basinger won for LA Confidential.. But then again, that might be a good thing. Peoples careers seems to through a slump after getting an Oscar.
Been a bit to much movies this weekend. Also got through the whole Godfather DVD collection. Why did I wait this long to see them. Well, I have seen 1 and 3 previously. But I saw them in a way to hot room, on very bad VCDs, when I was in Bali.. Anyway, think I need to buy them now. I didn't think the third one was as bad as everyone keep saying.. So it wasn't anywhere near as good as the first two and Sofia Coppola should definitely stick to directing, but still. I thought it was pretty good. I found the story a bit difficult to follow and there was a bit too much emphasis on the 'I love my cousin thing'.. But there were plenty of good moments. Pacino's silent scream sent chills down my back.
