Listened a bit more to 30 seconds to mars... and well.. Jared Leto seem to have gotten quite a bit of help on his vocals in the studio.. Saw a live performance clip, and his voice seemed very weak when he was singing and kind of drowned in all the sound. But then there wasn't all that much singing.. alot of screaming though.. I guess that's the only way he can be heard.. But to be fair, I've only seen his one clip, so he maybe just had a bad day..
But the cd. Well, listened a bit to this A beautiful lie. There are some very catchy MTV friendly songs that managed to get to me. So yes I kinda liked the obvious singles. But the album as a whole was really boring. Haven't listened to their first album yet, which I hear is better. I think I'm intrigued enough to check it out. But I have to admit that it's mainly because its that guy from Requiem for a dream, Fight Club and My so-called life.. Which I guess is exactly the way he doesn't want his band to be recognised..
Oh, and speaking of movies. Tried now on several occations to watch this movie Edison. I thought, Kevin Spacey - I would be all over it. But MY GOD. How fucking boring. Can't even manage to sit through 1/4 of it. I think I'll have to watch it in like 10 minute clips if I ever want to see all of it.. But I don't really think I want to.. So if I have to compare the two cross-over artists - I would have to say that Jared Leto is better as a musician than Justin Timberlake is as an actor. Oh forgot about LL Cool J. I guess he's probably one of the most sucessful cross-over artists. But what's with the name.. I just can't take anyone named that seriously as an actor. It's like Meatloaf. For fuck sake. If your going to try and be a serious actor - change your fucking name. Like anyone is ever going to say and the 'Oscar goes to Meatloaf'... Well, I guess anything is possible. Cher got one didn't she?..
