I love the end of daylight saving time. One whole hour extra of sleep. Fantastic.
A friend of mine got her Ph.D on friday. Not something that's in my future. I'm stuggeling with motivation to even finnish my masters. But it's only one more year... Only....
She did really good though. It was interesting to watch her defend her dissertation. Never been to one before. But the best part was the party after. Loads of food and wine. It was kind of strange to have a party in the classroom though. But they made it really nice.
Saturday I was at a friends birthdayparty. Party hard! We played Trivial Pursuit... No, but it was really nice. But my god how little I know. All the stuff we learned in school. Gone. I am particulary bad at history. It's really embarrassing. I need to read more. "Damn TV! It ruined my imagination and my ability to um well uh...you know"
It was a combined birthday/Halloween party. I really don't like halloween. Why in the world did we have to import this tradition. Well, obviously it's a money thing. Every year more and more halloween things are entering the stores.. And of course, it's a good excuse to throw a party. I think the first time I noticed people started to "do" halloween here was in 98 - I think. So it's only been in the last few years. And I don't think the trick or treat part of it has reached Norway yet. We do the trick or treat thing between christmas and new years. I only did that once when I was a kid. And it was really cold..
