"Okay. That's it. I can't remember. College is breaking my spirit. Every single day telling me things I don't know, it's making me feel stupid."

Watching Gilmore Girls is way more fun than writing about seaweeds..

Saw Fever Pitch just now. The one about football. Almost didn't because the dvd cover is absoultely horrible. But I liked the movie, so you don't have to be a sports fan to enjoy this one. But I can understand why it didn't do well at the box office. I find it really difficult to understand how someone can be so obsessed about a sports team, but I felt I got a bit of an insight after watching this. But it's not just about Arsenal and football. And some of the situations, even though they are about football here, you can relate to. Like where Paul has his hand on the doorknob and says he's going to leave but isn't moving... Been there..
High Fidelity is still my favourite filmatisation of a Nick Hornby book though. Wonder when they are going to make How to Be Good. I'm betting it's going to be made at some point..

Jo: It's all a sinister form of male manipulation.
Sarah: Rubbish!
Jo: It's true! You get colonized! Your native culture gets driven out, and it's replaced by stuff that you don't like and don't even want to know about.

Steve: Stanley Matthews was playing First Division football when he was fifty.
Paul: I'll bet you any money you like you're not playing First Division football when you're fifty.
Steve: Well, no. It's the smoking.
Paul: It's NOT the smoking, Steve. It's the crapness.

The Elected

I LOVE this song!
*
If my senses fail,
stay with me til they go
cuz I don't wanna be alone.
Greetings in braille,
they'll describe everything.
The colors aren't everything.
~
And if you see me
down at the liquor store,
please don't tell my dad.
And if you see my dad
down at the liquor store,
don't tell me anything at all.
~
And the people you brought were just strangers
bringing trash to the grounds.
And the memories are
picture cards on nightstands and break downs.
~
You were cold, tired, and
old as you ever looked that night.
We were warned, yeah.
We were warned not to stay out too late.
But some things were worth
getting in trouble for.
~
So now that you finally fell.
Just like like you said you would,
down to the last detail.
Well if living's such hell,
here's to your dying days.
You won't have to be afraid.
~
And the heroes you met
where just fiction, yeah
with high expectations.
When your friends grow up
faster than you and got successful.
They told you to keep it up,
good comes to those who work.
~
And the stories they told you were true, babe.
Your mom really went crazy.
But that doesn't have to be you, no.
~
Now I miss Toya, Melissa, Allen, and Sean.
You had never had friends
like you did when you were young.
When our bodies were pulled away
and swept out to the sea.
And I'd call and say hi
if I thought you'd remember me.
Cause some things are worth
leaving our memories for.
~
If my senses fail,
stay with me til they go
cuz I don't wanna be alone.
Greetings in braille
should describe everything
cause you can't see anything from here.
From here, there's nothing at all.
Nothing at all.
